Customer Stories

The best of two worlds

In the tooling and machine tool industry, the laser fusing of metals is opening up new product ideas. Surprising solutions are often produced when a product is developed additively. A disruptive approach creates new things in the world.

Creative examples are mould inserts for conformal cooling which enable injection moulds with shorter cycle times or precision drills which can be used with much greater availability thanks to spiralled cooling channels. The possible integration of functions is the primary focus here.

The range of possible applications is incredibly diverse in these industries. A combination of subtractive and additive processes in hybrid parts is also of great importance.

The strengths of the additive process, from the freedom of geometry through to the simultaneous construction of a large number of parts on one build plate, are inspiring experts from the world of moulds.

Our references clearly show you this – old school is a thing of the past. An additive manufacturing strategy enables these sectors to develop new product solutions with the potential for real innovations and an obvious increase in the level of added value.
